Wayman Lawrence Tisdale (June 9, 1964 – May 15, 2009) was an American professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association and a smooth jazz bass guitarist and a member of the Oklahoma Tourism Board. Tisdale and his wife Regina had four children.

Wayman Tisdale, who this year was elected to the College Basketball Hall of Fame, died the morning of May 15th, 2009 at the age of 44.

Wayman Tisdale, the former NBA player and current jazz musician, had part of his right leg amputated due to bone cancer earlier this year.

About Wayman Tisdale Death:

Tisdale died at age 44 on the morning of May 15, 2009 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where his wife had taken him when he had trouble breathing. Tisdale’s agent described his death as a “great shock” and noted that Tisdale had been planning to go into the recording studio the following week for a project with jazz guitarist Norman Brown.[15] As yet, it is unconfirmed whether his death was related to his battle with cancer.

On May 21, 2009, 4,000 mourners attended Tisdale’s memorial service at the BOK Center in Tulsa.
